I am a product of the media generation brought up with computers, television and immersed in pop-culture. I consider myself a musician. Not a composer or a performer so much as someone who works in, studies and creates music in anyway possible.

Through my interests and practical reasons, I have come to develop a passion for creating and working with sound in many facets. I started off in music classes in Switzerland when I was only 4 or 5. When I got my first guitar when I was 12, I wanted to be the next Jimi Hendrix.

My interests changed as I turned into a jazz guitarist and then focused on composing and the avant-gaurde with a particular interest in noise. I have continued performing professionally as well as composing profusely. The skills developed in composing led to work as a copyist with publishers as well as freelance work and commissions. My interests in technology grew as I saw how technology and acoustic instruments could interact and my interest became a passion, which too became a carreer.

Teching at a university was my goal when I started college and was realized in grad school with a teaching fellowship, which also put me in charge as the student coordinator as well as an assistant sound engineer. Now I teach at Bilgi University in Istanbul. Teaching the students is a real joy and I find it a very stimulating and challenging environment.
