Vietnamese and International Artists Collaborate in Serious MusicA
serious musical concert, themed “contemporary musical exchange between
Viet Nam and the world,” began yesterday. The concert will introduce
musical pieces from representative countries of yesterday’s seminar
titled “Contemporary Music in Vietnam and the World.”

The concert was held to
provide Vietnamese and international musicians with an opportunity to
share their experiences in learning, composing, and performing serious
music.
The opening night of the concert presented several
impressive performances to audience members, including Trisssees
Etoiles, Ambalance, A Child’s Thoughts, Shades of Mediterranean, and
Theme and Variation composed by Felize Anne Macahis (Philippines),
Benjamin May, Krystal J.Grant (the U.S), Tolga Zafer Ozdemir (Turkey),
and Vu Dai Duong (Viet Nam).
Mr. Johan Stromberg, an American music professor, conducted the orchestra.
A total of three serious musical concerts will take place from Wednesday to Friday at the Ho Chi Minh Conservatory of Music.
The
organizers of the event are Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper, the Ho Chi
Minh Conservatory of Music, and the International Media Company.
